How to Use Pear Deck

Creating Your First Interactive Slide

Click here and you will see the main page of Pear Deck. Click green ‘’Teacher Login’’ button and connect it with your Google account.

Upon connecting, click red ‘’Create a Lesson’’ button to create your first slide. You will be directed to Google Slides with a new slide open.

Do as the instruction below shows, this will be the first page you will see when you create a slide.

After adding, click on ‘’Add-ons’’ again and select Pear Deck add-on. You will see the sidebar from where you will be adding interactive features such as texts, multiple choice questions, websites, drawing feature or draggable circles or an audio.

After you create your slide, click green ''Start Lesson'' button and you will see two options. Select ''Instructor-Paced Activity'' if you are in the class with your students, select Student Paced Activity if this will be an assignment. Assuming that you have selected the previous one, you will then see the session code. Share it with your students, and they will be able to interact with the slide. For example, let us add a question that will be answered as a number. I wrote ‘’How old are you?’’ and a bar appeared below the slide, this means it will be shown.

Students will answer with a number. This is what students will see:

You will see this screen where you can click ''Show Responses'' and see the responses:

Congratulations, you have created your first slide! If you want to learn further, you can click here and watch a tutorial on Youtube, or you can watch it here!
