Jamboard

    Jamboard is useful especially in online lessons as it provides a white board for the teacher. Drawing, adding pictures and sticky notes on the screen are some of the ways that not only a teacher but also a student can use ''jam'' on board. 



Voki

    Voki is an online application that enables users to create avatars and voice them. A great variety of avatars can be picked, some of them requires to pay. It can help shy students to be more active as they will not be showing their faces, in fact they can even write what they want to say and use text-to-voice option. It also helps with focus as it is entertaining. Here is the interface:



 
Padlet

    A more limited alternative to Jamboard, Padlet lets you create sticky notes in sessions, synchronously and asynchronously. It has also features like adding multimedia to the notes or posters too. 



Trello

    Like Padlet and Jamboard, Trello is an application where you can create posters and sticky notes but it is more business orientated. However it can be used for group projects as it has role and deadline assigning and can be used to keep things in order. 



Flipgrid

    Flipgrid is an application that you can decide on a topic and post it with the multimedia input for your students to answer by their videos. Students can use their facecams and use emojis to cover their faces if they want to. It can also be used synchronously and asynchronously.




Nearpod

    Nearpod is a tool to create interactive slides like Peardeck with quizes, open ended questions, interactive videos and a number of other ways that helps students to participate. It can be used in sessions or asynchronously.

     Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality are concepts that are about creating or enhancing worlds. VR, which is concerned with creating worlds, has been around for more than fifty years. At the beginning there was with View-Master that allowed you to look at pictures that were edited to look like 3D. Now we have VR headsets such as Oculus Rift allowing you to be in virtual worlds. AR, however, is concerned with enhancing the experience. Head-Up Display features on cars and the mobile game Pokémon Go are great examples for understanding how AR keeps touch with the reality whereas VR creates a new one. These technologies would be very beneficial for education especially in elementary level as they learn with plays and, including other levels, experience.

Cognitive Theory of Multimedia Learning

     Created by Richard E. Mayer and Moxana Moreno, Cognitive Theory of Multimedia Learning explains the learning process as receiving information and processing it while connecting them with prior knowledge. So the theory gives us three assumptions: Dual Channel, Limited Capacity and Active Processing.                              Dual Channel : The model presents that learners recieve information via two channels: auditory and visually.                             Limited Capacity : The models presents that learners have limited capacity as of their memories' information database is finite.                       Active Processing : The model presents that learners integrate their prior knowledge with the information received, so this means that there is an active processing.                                        This theory suggest that teachers should use both visuals and auditory materials in order for learning to be successful.
